Questions?
Why does my dog need a walker?
You probably did not foresee hiring a dog walker when you brought your puppy or dog home that first day, but work gets busy and time runs short, and next thing your know, your pup is only getting a 5 minute potty outing every day.
At least two walks daily are ideal for your dog to remain in a healthy mental and physical state. Dogs are naturally social creatures, and as such, enjoy interaction with other dogs. They should be encouraged from a young age to meet other dogs and people, so that they develop proper and socially acceptable behaviour.
In order for dogs to act appropriately towards visitors to your home, friends and other dogs, they need to be taught. After all, they are animals, and to take their role as companions to us, they need some guidance. Consider our walks a daily dose of preventative medicine to a positive and healthy life.
Where will my dog be walked?
It depends on your preference and your dog’s as well. During the one hour group walks, we will usually go to one of the parks or ravines in North York. With your approval, your dog will play in the off-least areas, or be walked through the parks on leash. We try to change locations regularly, as we find that the change of scenery keeps our dogs interested and engaged in their daily walks.
How often will you walk my dog?
The frequency of walks is up to you, but our recommendation is that you allow your dog to join our groups as least three times a week. When dogs walk together regularly, they are familiar with each other and able to function as a pack much easier.
Why does my dog need a license?
Licensing issues are determined by the Toronto Municipal Code, and dog walkers must comply. Dogs need to wear a tag displaying their license, for their own safety and the safety of other dogs and people in public spaces.
Since most of our walks are in public spaces, we have to make sure that you and your dog are protected under Toronto’s laws, so that we always have a safe and fun time on our walks
